SENSORY INTEGRATION FOR PARENTS
Mary Gengler Fuhr, OTR/L

Through video, discussion, and hands on activities, parents will learn to better understand the theory of Sensory Integration and strategies to help their child learn self-regulatory strategies to improve their family’s daily life and their child’s ability to participate in school and community activities.

What is Sensory Integration?

What is Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)? Lucy Jane Miller describes SPD as "a complex disorder of the brain. Children (and adults) with SPD misinterpret everyday sensory information, such as touch, sound, and movement, giving them a different experience of the world from everyone else. This can lead to behavioral problems, difficulties with coordination, and many other issues."
